He is worthy
“The Lord said to me, “Go show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by aother man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods…”
Sweet friends, I can’t believe we’re already to the end of this week! I hope you all have enjoyed this as much as I have. I hope you all are confident in yourself. I hope that you are able to find confidence knowing that the One who has infinite worth thinks you have worth.
Hosea is a book that paints a beautiful picture of a God who is in love with people that have turned away from Him. They have turned to anything and everything they can find to try to fill the void that only God can truly fill.
The relationship between God and His people is invaluable in the eyes of the Lord. He continues to pursue them even though He isn’t the one who has turned away.
The relationship between Hosea and Gomer gives us just a glimpse of what God’s unconditional love looks like. No matter how many times Gomer left Hosea and was unfaithful, God continued to encourage Hosea to love his wife. He’s told over and over to start his relationship over and love Gomer just as though she had done nothing wrong. All he asks for is Gomer’s faithfulness to him.
Our faithfulness to God is what He wants.
One of the most valuable things my mom ever taught me was the fact that God genuinely wants a relationship with me. He wants me to talk to Him all the time. He wants to hear how my day is going. He wants to hear about the rough night I had. He wants to hear about that test I didn’t study for but still had to take. He wants a relationship with me.
What does that tell me about my worth?
GOD wants a relationship with ME.
He wanted a relationship with me badly enough that He sent Jesus to die so that we wouldn’t be separated because of my sin.
Not only does He want a relationship with me, but He also took time to lay out and plan my entire life. He has a plan for what’s going to happen tomorrow. He has a plan for what’s going to happen next year. He has a plan for what’s going to happen in the next ten years.
How crazy is that?
I am worthy…because I know He is worthy.
“When you know you are loved and seen by God, you live a different life. You no longer need attention or affection from others to feel satisfied. Even if you receive praise for your work or if you are noticed in a crowd, because you know you are loved and seen by God, your soul was complete before you ever got to those things.”
Our worth is found in Christ alone.
